Abstract

ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP OF CONFIDENCE (SELF-EFFICACY) WITH RESILIENCE OF PULMONARY TB PATIENTS AT THE KEPUTIH PUSKESMAS SURABAYA Dama Novantono The self-confidence of TB sufferers at the beginning and during treatment is formed from self-strengthening, support from health and medical personnel, as well as support from family and those closest to them which is still found to be not optimal, which of course will have an impact on the patient's resilience and healing process. This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and resilience in TB patients. This research uses a correlational analytical design. The population in this study were pulmonary TB patients at the Keputih Community Health Center, Surabaya. The sampling technique in this research used a probability sampling technique with a simple random sampling approach with 59 respondents. The independent variable is self-confidence (Self-Efficacy) and the dependent variable is self- resilience. This research instrument uses a questionnaire. Analysis of this research data using the Spearman rho correlation. The results of this study show that the majority of patients have self-confidence in the high category of 72.9% and self-resilience in the high category of 89.9%. The Spearman rho test results show a relationship between self-confidence and self- resilience (p=0.000) with very strong strength (r=0.634), which means that the higher the self-confidence, the higher the self-resilience of pulmonary TB patients in treatment. Self-confidence is very important in patient treatment. Patients who have high self-efficacy can influence the patient's self-confidence in undergoing therapy to cure their illness and are then able to regulate themselves to become a strong person when facing a life problem that is difficult to overcome.
