Abstract

ABSTRACT Disease progression and treatment in cancer patients can result in physical weakness and psychological problems. This greatly affects the quality of life of cancer patients. The aim of the research was to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing therapy at the Sedekah Rombongan Shelter Home in Surabaya. Analytical descriptive research design with a cross sectional approach. Patient population at the Surabaya Sedekah Rombongan Shelter Home. Samples were taken between October and November 2023. The sampling technique used incidental sampling of 52 respondents. The instrument uses the General Self Efficacy (GSE) and WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire sheets . Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rho correlation test. The results showed that the majority of respondents had high self-efficacy (78.8%), while the quality of life of most respondents was in the good category (55.8%). Based on the results of the Spearman Rho test, it was found that  value = 0.000 ( < 0.05). So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and the quality of life of cancer patients. Cancer patients who are undergoing therapy are expected to always instill selfefficacy within themselves. Self-efficacy is closely related to the quality of life of cancer patients. Patients with cancer who do not have self-efficacy will result in a decrease in quality of life. Keywords: Cancer patients, Quality of life, Self Efficacy, Halfway House
