Abstract

Stunting is a short body condition characterized by length or height according to below standard age (<-2 SD) below the median which results in impaired attainment of normal height according to his age. Stunting is often not a concern of parents, because there is no visible difference in stunting toddler height compared to healthy children. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the incidence of stunting toddlers in the working area of the Kenjeran Public Health Center in Surabaya.The research design used explorative method with a sample of 145 respondents mothers and children under five 2-5 years in the working area of the Kenjeran Health Center in Surabaya. The research variable is the incidence of stunting toddlers with height measurements using microtoise. Sampling technique used stratified random sampling with tabulation of frequency distribution.The results showed that stunted children under five were 95 children (64.5%), and stunted children were very short (severe stunted) as many as 50 children (34.5%). Health workers can provide education through posyandu so that parents understand stunting and provide balanced nutrition to children despite minimal income. Nutritious foods that are cheap by good food processing can minimize the incidence of stunting
