Abstract
Background : Menstruation/menstrual is the process of the expenditure of blood from the uterus accompanied by flakes of the mucous wall of the uterus’s women. Dysmenorrhea is a menstruation/menstrual pain. Many ways are used to reduce dysmenorrhoea in addition to use drug, it also can use a complementary therapy that is yoga therapy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of yoga therapy to decrease the pain of menstruation. Method : The design of this research is Quasy Experiment. Samples were taken by the sampling of saturated obtained from 30 young bachelor nursing student at STIKES Hang Tuah Surabaya. The instrument used observation to determine the level of menstrual pain using a Scale of Pain Intensity Numeric according to Hayward (0-10) in the control group and the experiment group. Data analysis used Mann-Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Sign with significance level at p ≤ 0.05. Result : The results of the research with the test of Mann-Whitney U Test, obtained p = 0.002 while the Wilcoxon Sign obtained p = 0.001. It can be concluded that there are differences results in both of groups and the provision of yoga therapy influential in the decline of menstrual pain. Conclusion : The implication of this research is the provision of yoga therapy can reduce the pain on the young female students who experienced dysmenorrhoea.
