Abstract

Tittle : Description of the Competence of Medical Surgical Nursing Preseptors at the Clinic Learning Center RSPAL Dr. Ramelan Surabaya ABSTRACT Preceptors are experienced professional nurses in the clinic who work closely with the preceptee and have the ability to guide training students. The competence of receptors is not optimal because of the number of nurses who have qualifications as a minimum of preceptors, the number of receptors is not comparable to the preceptors, limited time in conducting guidance, and limited facilities and infrastructure in the guidance process. The purpose of this study was to describe the competence of KMB receptors in the clinical learning vehicle of RSPAL Dr. Ramelan Surabaya. The design of this research is descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional research design. The population of this study was the preceptee of KMB in RSPAL with a total of 134 people. The sampling technique used probability sampling with simple random sampling. Calculation of the sample size using the Slovin formula, the sample of this study was 100 respondents. The variable of this research is the competence of the receptors. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate analysis with categorical descriptive. The results showed that clinical competence, leadership, professional behavior and ethics all had good competencies, namely 100 respondents (100%). Knowledge competence, teaching skills, interpersonal relations and communication as well as personal characteristics that have the best competence are 99 respondents (99%). Competencies that have the advantage of having good competence are 94 respondents (94%). Preceptorship training can improve the competence of receptors so as to create a representative learning atmosphere and improve the quality of guidance. You do this by getting support in preceptorship activities. Keywords : Clinical Learning, Precept, Preceptee, Adult Learning, Perception
