Abstract
Abstract: Injectable contraception is one of many methods used by women. Contraceptive injections are 3 types of cyclofem (1 month), norigest (2 months), and depoprovera (3 months). These contraceptives have good efficacy, but have various side effects. One of these side effects are menstrual disorders such as amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, and polimenorea. In addition, there is a weight change on the use of contraceptive injections (Pratiwi 2014). This study a ims to determine the relationship of the use of contraceptive injections to changes in the menstrual cycle and weight gain in women. Design of this study is the correlation analytic approach One Group Pre Experimental. Samples were taken using Non Probability Sampling by means of Total Sampling, to obtain a sample of 33 women who use contraceptive injections at Taman Surya Kencana Sidoarjo. The independent variable is the use of injectable contraception, and the dependent variable is the menstrual cycle changes and weight gain in women. In this study, data was analyzed by Spearman Rho test with significance level The result showed the type of injectable contraception used in the majority of women choose injectable contraception 1 month. Changes in the menstrual cycle in women who use contraceptive injections are subjected to oligomenor rhea. Weight gain in women who use contraceptive injections are subjected to weight changes in the lightweight category. Results of the study menstrual cycle changes and weight through Spearman Rho test values obtained = 0.000, H1 is a ccepted it can be concluded there is a connection to the use of contraceptive injections menstrual cycle changes and weight gain in women. The implications of the results of this study are expected women who use contraceptive injections are routinely measure weight and consult with midwives or other medical personnel, if subjected to prolonged amenorrhoea.
